The Khwarizmi Science Society (KSS) in collaboration with Ali Institute of Education (AIE) is going to arrange 3rd Lahore Science Mela on 12th to 13th October 2019 at the AIE, Ferozepur Road, Lahore.
The timing of mela will be from 9 am to 5 pm in the evening. No registration or fee will be required to attend the Mela.
Organizers confirmed that about seventy participants registered from science societies, universities such as LUMS and GCU, museums, SUPARCO, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, corporations, diagnostic labs, schools and colleges.
This mela is focus on various topics related to science such as minerals and rocks, engineering, wildlife, health, the human body, conservation and architecture, maths, space communication and satellites, art, physics, aero-modeling, AI and electronics, plants and animals.
Numbers of different activities will be done in 3rd Lahore Science Mela such as competitions, science photography contest, and even a science inspired theater. A large Pakistani made planetarium will also be fixed. Massive drill bits for oil exploration will be displayed too.
This year’s main theme for the Lahore Science Mela is the International Year of the Periodic Table. Khwarizmi Science Society is working with the Government of Punjab’s School Education Department, mentored 36 teams from 36 districts focusing on wonder inspiring experiments dealing with the elements, chemistry, chemicals and materials. Hence, this mela will be turning out to be the most diverse, widespread and inclusive extracurricular science activity in Pakistan.
